The "Old Gym" was
erected 1921 and is the only major structure on campus that
remains unnamed, known simply as the Ballet Building, it
holds the ballet and modern dance department of the School
of Fine Arts. The building was originally a gymnasium and
was adopted by the ballet department in 1973. TCU was the
first major university to offer a bachelor's degree in ballet,
and from this school emerged the founders of the Fort Worth
Ballet.
